2023 Reporters' Workshop

Reporters from across Florida met at the Florida Supreme Court on November 7th for a two-day workshop on the intersection of media and the court system. The workshop is designed to help reporters better understand the court system and equip them to knowledgably cover stories involving the courts and legal matters. The annual workshop was sponsored by The Florida Bar Media & Communications Law Committee and hosted by the Florida Supreme Court.

Reporters attended sessions covering topics including court structure, the First Amendment, public records, defamation, and high-profile cases. Throughout the workshop, attendees also had several opportunities to ask questions of justices, judges, attorneys, and media professionals.
